SPI Servisoft Attains CMMi Level 5, the Highest Standard for Software Process Maturity
Business Wire, August 23, 2004
NEW YORK -- SPI Technologies Inc., the largest independent provider of content outsourcing services, today announced that its software services division, SPI Servisoft, has been assessed at CMMi (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Level 5 by Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (SEI). The CMMi assessment was performed by an SEI-authorized independent lead assessor, QAI India Ltd.
CMMi Level 5 is the highest standard available to assess the maturity of an organization's software engineering processes. SPI Servisoft thus joins a select group of IT services companies that have attained this assessment. Moreover, the certification establishes SPI Servisoft as a quality provider of technology solutions focused on developing, integrating, and supporting mission-critical content management environments.

"The successful CMMi Level 5 assessment underscores our commitment to deliver maximum value to our customers. By implementing customer-centric world-class quality systems, we are able to meet and surpass the most stringent service delivery expectations of our global customers."
"This Level 5 assessment confirms that the systems we have in place are optimizing costs, schedules, performance and quality, while still minimizing overall risk," added Peter Maquera, President and Chief Operating Officer of SPI Servisoft. "The CMMi Level 5 assessment is a significant milestone towards our goal of being a preferred IT solutions partner to the Global 2000."
CMMi Level 5 is more elaborate and rigorous than its predecessor, CMM (Capability Maturity Model). CMMi has 22 process areas compared to CMM's 12, and 441 practices versus CMM's 208. The CMM benchmarking standard had previously been established as the accreditation framework for the IT industry to adopt best practices for software engineering.
