U.S. Army Medical Command Chooses Quest Software to Migrate and Manage Active Directory

IRVINE, Calif. -- Over 65,000 Seats of Quest Software Products Purchased to Migrate and Manage Microsoft Infrastructure
Quest Software Inc. (Nasdaq:QSFT), a leading provider of application, database and Windows management solutions, announced today that the U.S. Army Medical Information Technology Center (USAMITC) has licensed Quest's Windows Management products for migrating and managing the command's Microsoft infrastructure. USAMITC purchased licenses of Quest Reporter, Quest ActiveRoles, Quest MessageStats, and Quest Spotlight on Exchange, as well as associated consulting and mentoring services.

USAMITC has implemented the products for migration to Active Directory and for ongoing management of its Active Directory forest. Quest Reporter is being used to assess the current Microsoft Windows NT domains prior to migration and for ongoing operations management reporting on Active Directory domains. Quest ActiveRoles is being used to streamline user administration in Active Directory through role-based delegation, Group Policy management and business rules.
"We've been using Quest Software's products for a number of months now and have migrated close to 40,000 users. These user accounts are also managed by the Quest products for Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange," said Barzie Drewry, functional CIO, MEDCOM. Quest products and services are being used by the Army in a number of their other Active Directory forests, including Army Korea, Army Europe, Continental United States (CONUS), Army National Guard, United States Military Academy at West Point and the Army Reserve. Quest Software is used to manage more than 1 million government user accounts, including those at the Department of State, Department of Agriculture and the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI).
