Richardson Electronics Now Offers the FDA 510 Cleared, Flat-Panel Display and Viewing System for Mammograms from Planar Systems, Inc

Business Wire, August 26, 2004

LAFOX, Ill. -- Richardson Electronics, Ltd. (Nasdaq:RELL), a global provider of Engineered Solutions for the Display Systems Market, today announces the availability of a flat-panel Dome(R)C5i system for displaying and viewing mammograms, from Planar Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:PLNR), a worldwide leader in flat-panel display systems.

The Dome C5i from Planar exceeds industry standards for diagnostic-quality resolution recommended by the American College of Radiology and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (ACR-NEMA). It provides 3,061 distinct, displayable gray shades -- nearly three times that of alternative 5MP flat-panel monitors. This provides for precise calibration to DICOM standards, and allows radiologists to distinguish slight variations in a patient's radiograph. Because of its brightness, the Dome C5i can work equally well in bright areas as it does in dark radiology reading rooms.

"The 510K certification is a vote of confidence to the technology and will expedite the migration from 5 megapixel CRTs to 5 megapixel LCDs," stated Gerry McGinley, Business Unit Manager for Richardson's Display Systems Group.

To get started, you need to know what you really want from work, then orient your political moves toward those goals. It all starts with strong relationships and helping others; those people in return make up the support system that helps you realize your goals. Here’s how it’s done.
