LANDesk Software Positioned in the Leader Quadrant In Desktop Software Distribution Magic Quadrant
Business Wire, August 27, 2004
SALT LAKE CITY -- LANDesk Software, a leader in integrated desktop, server and mobile device management software, today announced that it has been listed in the leader quadrant in Gartner Inc.'s 2004 Desktop Software Distribution Magic Quadrant, published Aug. 25. According to Gartner, the leader quadrant includes organizations that are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.
According to the report, "Software Distribution vendors (SD) have weathered the ups and downs over the last ten years with many exits of smaller vendors struggling to demonstrate technical differentiation or to compete for execution in a crowded market. And yet, those vendors that have maintained a presence have done so by incrementally adding capability to meet the ever-changing needs of IT organizations and tying their tools to process."
LANDesk Software has rapidly advanced its solution set, building on core software distribution and inventory capabilities to address enterprises' patch management, asset management and remote control needs across laptops, desktops, servers and handheld devices.
"LANDesk is delighted by Gartner's listing in the leaders quadrant in the desktop software distribution space," said Dave R. Taylor, vice president of worldwide marketing at LANDesk Software. "Our industry-leading software distribution capabilities are at the foundation of our broad suite of management solutions. We continually focus our development efforts on adding functionality and capabilities requested by our customers, and our solutions reflect their requests for a cohesive suite -- offering security, compliance and management benefits."
Earlier this month, LANDesk announced the 16th consecutive quarter of operating profitability and a 49 percent year-over-year increase in revenue. Increased product license sales to new and existing customers and an enhanced global presence continue to fuel growth.
