Aquila Will Review Second Quarter Results in Webcast August 5 at 9:30 A.M. Eastern

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Aquila, Inc. (NYSE:ILA) will conduct a conference call and webcast on August 5 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time to discuss 2004 second quarter results and information on its operations and restructuring, including the company's progress on terminating long-term natural gas contracts. Participants will be Chief Executive Officer Rick Green, Chief Operating Officer Keith Stamm and Chief Financial Officer Rick Dobson. Aquila's earnings and quarterly report on Form 10-Q will be made public earlier on August 5.

Allow at least five minutes to register and access the presentation. Replays will be available on the website at the same location ("Investor Information"), beginning approximately two hours after the webcast.
