WIRELESS SECURITY CORPORATION'S WI-FI SOFTWARE PROMOTED ON IBM'S SMALL BUSINESS WEBSITE; SOLUTION STOPS HACKERS AND THWARTS WI-FI EAVESDROPPERS
Wireless Security Corporation (WSC), a leading provider of Wi-Fi security solutions, today announced that IBM, the world's largest information technology company, is promoting a unique wireless security solution that helps companies maintain a self-defended wireless network. The solution leverages the latest WPA authentication and encryption technology at a fraction of the cost and with fewer hassles than other wireless security solutions.
The solution, called WSC Guard(SM), is patent-pending software that solves the critical wireless security issues facing small and medium-size businesses and home professionals. WSC Guard provides state-of-the-art wireless networking protection that is easy to install and operate.
Through its Small and Medium Business (SMB) advice center, IBM recommends WSC Guard as a solution for securing wireless PCs and networking equipment. The offer includes a 30-day risk-free trial. The new software uses the latest industry standards to help companies build trusted electronic solutions that protect vital data and ensure continuity of operations.
"Wireless Security Corporation's relationship with IBM gives us the capability to reach and serve SMBs worldwide," said Wireless Security Corporation Chairman and Co-founder Dennis Rohan. "Customers value the high level of security provided by WSC Guard, as it helps protect their networks and company data from eavesdroppers and hackers. They further appreciate its ease of use, low cost and ongoing support."
The WSC Guard Wi-Fi security solution is comprised of client software, a web administration portal and a security operations center. WSC Guard is a complete enterprise-class security solution so no additional hardware, software or consulting is required to take advantage of WPA-Enterprise (Wi-Fi Protected Access(TM)). WSC Guard is being offered for as low as $45 per user per year. Additional technical and pricing information is available at

Company officials say that wireless networks have been immensely popular with small businesses and consumers, due to the increased convenience, mobility and productivity the technology offers. However, because they use radio signals to transmit and receive data between devices, some wireless networks can be vulnerable to eavesdroppers if security options are not enabled.
Wireless security analysts note that because hackers can gain access to unprotected WLANs, businesses should employ robust authentication and encryption systems to defend networks and data against threats. Yet, for small or medium-sized businesses, such efforts before WSC Guard were time-consuming and caused a dramatic rise in IT administration costs, network complexity and configuration problems.
"We're proud that this relationship between IBM and Wireless Security Corporation will broaden the exposure for our technology that greatly improves the customer experience in setting up and maintaining secure wireless networks," said WSC Executive Vice President of Business Development and Sales Phil Marson. "Our market research shows that wireless users are eager to use a product that dramatically simplifies Wi-Fi protection."
