MARC FORSTER - First nomination.

MIKE NICHOLS received the Golden Globe for Best Director for "The Graduate." He also received Best Director nominations for "Working Girl," "Silkwood" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"

ALEXANDER PAYNE received a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay for "ABOUT SCHMIDT." He was also nominated as Best Director for the film.

MARTIN SCORSESE received a Golden Globe for Best Director for "GANGS OF NEW YORK." He also received Best Director nominations for "Casino," "The Age of Innocence," "Goodfellas" and "Raging Bull." He also received a Best Screenplay nomination for "Goodfellas."
