Frost & Sullivan Recognizes POWERVAR's Customer Segment Penetration in the North American UPS Market
Business Wire, Dec 14, 2004
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Frost & Sullivan's recent study, North American UPS Markets, acknowledged POWERVAR's exceptional, focused customer-centric approach toward satisfying quality backup power needs in the healthcare sector. Its wide product portfolio includes power conditioners, backup power supplies, and diagnostic tools/accessories.
Although the company has established a strong market for applications in industries as diverse as retail, semiconductor fabrication/test, and graphics, the medical equipment marketplace widely recognizes POWERVAR for a product family that addresses the power quality needs of applications such as patient monitoring, patient imaging, and clinical laboratory instrumentation.
POWERVAR provides the medical equipment market with backup power solutions using the Security One uninterruptible power manager (UPM) with capacities ranging from 350 VA to 1,440 VA. It covers applications including imaging, laboratory equipment, and bedside monitoring systems.
"POWERVAR manufactures two types of products for the healthcare segment-medical grade power conditioners and UPM products that meet the rigorous requirements of global medical standards (IEC60601)," say Frost & Sullivan Program Manager Farah Saeed and Industry Analyst Hariharan Balasubramanian.
Standards ensure that the products can be used in the vicinity of patients, as these devices will have low leakage currents in addition to meeting all the construction requirements related to IEC60601. POWERVAR also has standard power conditioning and UPM devices that can be deployed in non-patient areas such as laboratories and medical records department.
"POWERVAR produces quality power conditioning equipment that provide reliable and fool-proof protection to the units as shown by the strict third-party quality standards that POWERVAR products meet," notes Saeed.
All POWERVAR products have low impedance isolation transformers, powerline noise filters, and high-energy surge diverters. They form the core of the company's products, ensuring quality and reliable power solutions.
For catering to the emerging needs of customers by optimizing its product line in the UPS market, POWERVAR is presented with the 2004 Customer Segment Penetration Award by Frost & Sullivan. This award is given each year to the company that has leveraged products with the various price, performance, and feature points. It has strategically positioned new offerings to balance the product line.
"POWERVAR is one of the fast growing vendors of power quality solutions in the low and medium power medical equipment category," observes Balasubramanian. "With a wide customer base in the clinical laboratory, patient monitoring, and medical imaging application segments, POWERVAR has several opportunities to expand further."
