Network Appliance Receives ISO 14001 Certification

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Network Appliance, Inc. (Nasdaq:NTAP), the leader in advanced networked storage solutions for today's data-intensive enterprise, today announced that it has received International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 Environmental Management System Certification. ISO 14001 is a management system that helps companies develop and execute a policy that ultimately reduces harmful effects on the environment. NetApp has also maintained ISO 9001 certification since May 1997.

By achieving this certification, NetApp is making commitments to continually improve internal environmental objectives, prevent pollution, and conserve natural resources for future generations and comply with regulatory legislation.

Network Appliance also won the Outstanding Environmental Achievement award from the city of Sunnyvale, California, for its on-site environmentally friendly cogeneration system. The cogeneration system produces its own electricity and uses the heat that comes out as waste to power the cooling system for its data center. Network Appliance received a congressional letter from a member of the United States House of Representatives recognizing this achievement.
