Business Wire, Dec 16, 2004
READING, England -- Tao Group, publisher of SSEYO miniMIXA, is delighted to announce the much anticipated public availability of its ground-breaking mobile music mixer. Owners of Windows Mobile based Smartphones or PocketPCs, as well as Windows PC users, can now purchase the premium version of this hugely fun application from www.sseyo.com. Demo versions can also be downloaded from the website. At the time of launch Tao is offering four different white label SSEYO MIXApaks - "Fiesta", "Floorzone", "Terminator" and "Turbulence". These add on content packs allow users to draw on a wide range of additional themed content to include in their mixes, recordings of which can be emailed to friends.
Demonstrated first at the FutureDJ dance set at the ISEA2004 music festival, SSEYO miniMIXA has been getting a hugely positive reception from the musicians, DJs and journalists who have played with it, and it has now been nominated for a 2005 BAFTA(1) Interactive Award in the Music category.
Incredibly powerful yet easy-to-use, SSEYO miniMIXA premium version is the feature-packed, multi-channel audio mixer, sequencer, DJ system, FX unit and recording studio application for the Microsoft Windows Mobile platform. An intuitive interface, pitch shifting and time stretching, makes it simple for a user to create mixes from drums, basses, chords, leads and custom sounds and then apply per-track sound effects - resulting in an almost infinite number of different possible and exciting combinations. Music and mixes created by users can be saved and played for fun, sent to friends by email, or stored on the phone as a unique ringtone.
Tim Cole, co-founder of SSEYO and now Head of Audio at Tao Group said, "Once you have made a microphone recording, added it into a minimix, and then actually emailed a recording of your creation to your friends - all from your mobile phone - you will understand some of the power and excitement of this application. The mobile phone is the next electric guitar!"
"Our goal with Windows Mobile software is to provide mobile developers with a platform that supports robust multi-media features on a range of unique devices to best meet specific needs of the end user," said Mark Spain, director of developer marketing, Mobile and Embedded Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. "Software providers like Tao have been instrumental in expanding the Windows Mobile community through innovative products like the SSEYO miniMIXA."
Phil Murphy, independent entertainment and new media consultant, and former SVP Sony Music Europe, commented, "Having road-tested SSEYO miniMIXA and tried out some of the add-on SSEYO MIXApaks I can say this application is significantly ahead of any other mobile music mixer currently available. Simply put, it rocks!"
SSEYO miniMIXA supports content in a range of standard audio and MIDI formats, as well as the new innovative SKM format that allows use of modular synthesis and the Koan generative music engine.
