Business Wire, Dec 16, 2004
LAS VEGAS -- Broadband Wireless International Corporation (OTCBB: BBAN) announced today, the result of the proxy solicitation sent to shareholders and the Special Shareholders meeting held on November 19, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada, which was recessed several times. The meeting was convened at 8290 West Sahara, Suite #270, Las Vegas, Nevada at 1:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. The agenda for the meeting was specific to one item, "the election of the directors". The inspector of elections was present and read for the record, the results of the shareholders vote for the Board of Directors. As a result, Dr. Ron Tripp, Keith McAllister and Michael Williams have been elected as the official Board of Directors of Broadband Wireless International to serve until the annual shareholders meeting to be held sometime in 2005 and until their respective successors are elected and qualified. The shareholders that participated in the election voted approximately 84% in favor of the elected members.
"We are pleased to have finally closed a significant chapter for Broadband Wireless in its road to prosperity. This has been a triumphant month for the company. We were victorious in our motion in the Susan Joseph matter last week and now the shareholders have removed Paul Harris, Benjamin Stanley and John Walsh. We can now direct our energy into the real business objectives of the company. We are preparing the marketing plans for the introduction to the market of the Broadband Wireless Visual Communication Subscriber Lines and Virtual Broadband Network," stated Michael Williams, Chairman.
Dr. Ron Tripp, CEO commented, "With the voting over and the board elected, the company, its counsel and regulatory resources will be working overtime to bring the Paul Harris faction to justice. However, we will not allow this to interfere with our business objectives. The opportunity for Broadband to become competitive as a communications company is dominant. As we stated in the shareholders meeting, we will remain fast as a communications company with a clear plan that we will accomplish."
