Wizzard Software Licenses AT&T Natural Voices Telephony Server Software to IQ Technology Inc. for Deployment with Their IQ Alert System

Business Wire, Dec 2, 2004

PITTSBURGH -- Wizzard Software (OTCBB:WIZD) announced today that the AT&T Natural Voices TTS Telephony Server edition has been chosen by IQ Technology Inc. for use in their innovative IQ-Alert emergency notification system. Located in Taiwan, IQ Technology Inc. is a prominent software and enterprise solutions provider focused on text, voice, and intelligent e-services. IQ Alert is their first multi-lingual emergency notification system and fulfills a vital requirement for emergency notifications within multi-national companies. Their IQ Alert system was recently chosen by a major optoelectronics manufacturer in Taiwan.

"We have evaluated several English TTS engines and find AT&T's Natural Voices performance has the best voice quality," said Ray Chao, President of IQ Technology Inc. "Also, AT&T's Natural Voices can be easily integrated with our IQ-Alert system since it supports the Microsoft SAPI 5.1 interface."

In optoelectronics product lines, any auto-equipment malfunction could cause extensive financial loss. An MES (Manufacture Execution System) monitors the auto equipment, and if the MES detects an abnormal situation it will send a text alert message to the IQ Alert Emergency Notification System. IQ-Alert will parse the text messages, determine the appropriate language and select a TTS engine/font. Using AT&T's Natural Voices Telephony Server TTS engine the detailed alert message is transformed into a highly intelligible voice in real-time and used by the IQ-Alert system to notify designated engineers by telephone, no matter where they are. If the designated engineer cannot be reached in a timely manner, alternates are promptly notified in the same manner. The engineers can interact on the phone call through a voice-response system and can call the IQ-Alert server to hear the status report at any time from any location.

"We are extremely pleased that IQ Technology chose Wizzard and AT&T Natural Voices for their new IQ-Alert System," said Bruce Phifer, Wizzard's General Manager of Market and Business Development. "We feel that this product exemplifies an incredibly exciting category of innovative "notification" products that can benefit from the outstanding combination of price point and voice quality offered by AT&T Natural Voices telephony server edition."

IQ Technology Inc. has a consumer software line that includes: Chinese text input and learning software; a Text-to-MP3 tool; a Chinese Braille translator; Chinese dictation typing exam software; and digital talking book authoring tools. IQ Technology's enterprise solutions include Chinese text-to-speech engines (both Mandarin and Taiwanese); an emergency notification system; an e-support helpdesk system; an e-marketing system; a knowledge-base management system; and an intelligent question and answering expert system.
