Advanced Financial Solutions and EqualLogic Enter into OEM Agreement

Business Wire,  Dec 21, 2004

NASHUA, N.H. -- Leading Provider of Payment Processing Solutions Selects EqualLogic's PS Family of Products to Serve as Core Storage Environment Option for Its Check Imaging Product Line

EqualLogic(R), Inc., a leading provider of iSCSI-based self-managing networked storage solutions, today announced the company has entered into an OEM agreement with Advanced Financial Solutions (AFS), a leading provider of image-enabled payment processing solutions for the financial services industry. AFS will integrate EqualLogic's award-winning PS Series of storage arrays within its ImageVision platform, allowing customers to reap the benefits of on-demand storage access and flexibility in managing their in-house check archives.

AFS is a technology company recognized worldwide for image-based digital solutions that meet real-world check and remittance processing needs. 57 percent of U.S. financial institutions use check-imaging solutions from AFS ImageVision. AFS selected EqualLogic's PS Series storage arrays because of their modular flexibility, excellent performance and ease of management that lets customers grow their storage as needed for managing AFS check processing solutions.

From banks to retailers to utilities, businesses of all types count on AFS for solutions that enable them to process payments, transactions and documents more efficiently and profitably. With EqualLogic serving as the main storage device for the check images, AFS can now offer customers long-term storage benefits without added costs and equipment over time. EqualLogic provides an alternative to traditional Fibre Channel solutions for AFS, allowing the company to pass additional cost and time savings to customers.

"EqualLogic allows us to deliver an enterprise-quality, high-performance storage environment with unprecedented ease of use and automation that can be completely set up in less than an hour," said Jeff Vetterick, vice president of marketing for AFS. "In addition to simplifying storage installation and management, PS arrays allow us to offer a more cost-effective alternative to more price-sensitive customers, expanding the market for our check-imaging solutions."

EqualLogic is the only standards-compliant IP SAN solution provider to offer a comprehensive and fully integrated, standard feature set at no additional cost to the customer. Each PS Series storage array comes with fully redundant, fault-tolerant hardware and includes full-featured automatic storage-management software. Multiple arrays can be combined to form a scalable enterprise storage grid of more than 100 terabytes.

"AFS is a technology innovator within the financial services community, and its commitment to customers is evident by their impressive list of financial institutions that rely on them for all their check processing needs," said John Joseph, vice president of marketing at EqualLogic. "EqualLogic will provide AFS customers with a nimble platform for storage growth, allowing them to achieve cost benefits that were not possible before."
