GE Appoints George Awad A Company Officer

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- GE today announced the appointment of a new company officer.

George Awad, 44, is Vice President, Global Marketing, GE Consumer Finance, a role he began in April 2000. Awad is charged with driving global growth for the business through strategic marketing and brand initiatives.

Prior to his current role, Awad was Managing Director, Auto Financial Services, Europe, a role he started in 1997. Prior to that, Awad was Manager, Business Development, Auto Financial Services, based in Singapore. In 1994, Awad was Manager, Business Development, China for GE Consumer & Industrial. Awad started his GE career in 1988 with GE RECO.

Awad received his MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania in 1987, and his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 1982.
