iQ NetSolutions Announces Support for Microsoft Live Communications Server
Business Wire, Dec 28, 2004
WESTBOROUGH, Mass. -- VistaPoint Enterprise Presence and Call Control Software Bridges between TDM, VoIP, and SIP
iQ NetSolutions (www.iqnetsolutions.com), innovators in enterprise presence and call control software solutions, today announced its award-winning VistaPoint Enterprise(TM) will support Microsoft's Live Communications Server(TM) (LCS). VistaPoint Enterprise will provide unified presence and call control among mixed technologies such as TDM, VoIP, and SIP, uniquely bridging the legacy to IP gap using presence to provide a seamless migration.
VistaPoint Enterprise delivers application-level presence monitoring and telephony call control across heterogeneous communication systems including emerging technologies such as SIP. The VistaPoint Enterprise suite delivers productivity enhancing applications designed for a variety of users. These applications include an Attendant Console, Directory Services, and plug-ins for Microsoft Outlook(TM), Microsoft Business Solutions CRM(TM), and Windows Messenger(TM).
By extending the capabilities of iQ's products to support enterprises that have begun deploying LCS into their existing communication infrastructures, VistaPoint Enterprise can ease the migration from TDM to VoIP/SIP. Additionally, customers can realize the immediate benefits of presence and call control during the migration process, because VistaPoint enterprise allows disparate systems and services to transparently co-exist.
Microsoft's Live Communications Server is an enterprise-grade instant messaging and presence solution that is fully integrated with the Microsoft Office System(TM) and the Windows Server System(TM). iQ NetSolutions' SIP/SIMPLE interface for LCS retrieves presence and state changes of SIP devices from LCS and passes this back to the VistaPoint Server software which in-turn presents this to presence-based applications. Conversely, the interface "pushes" state changes of legacy telephony devices into LCS so that LCS-compliant applications can also make use of this valuable presence information.
This announcement comes on the heels of iQ NetSolutions' recently announced addition of VistaPoint Companion for Windows Messenger to its VistaPoint Enterprise product suite. For more information regarding this announcement, visit www.iqnetsolutions.com/primary_news.aspx.
> The VistaPoint Companion for Windows Messenger is a plug-in application that delivers enterprise presence and call control for legacy, VoIP and SIP devices. Along with the other Companion series applications, these plug-ins enhance the value of existing applications by embedding telephony presence and call control of all wireless and wireline devices across the entire organization."We are no longer simply tracking a person's IM status," said Ray Ryan, Executive Vice President and CTO, iQ NetSolutions. "Presence-based applications and services must also monitor (in real-time) the state of every communication device or service that an individual uses. Our strategy is simple, to make presence and call control ubiquitous across the entire enterprise of wireline and wireless communication technologies. Doing so will enable organizations to provide their employees with productivity enhancing applications resulting in superior customer service."
The VistaPoint Enterprise product suite can be implemented across an enterprise of mixed PBX vendor systems. VistaPoint Enterprise supports all major PBX platforms (TDM and IP-based) from vendors including Avaya, Cisco, Mitel, Nortel, Siemens and others.
