Vodafone, Accenture Executives Join Ubiquity Software Board Of Directors; Chris Burke and Dave Seibel Bring Insight and Leadership

Business Wire, Dec 8, 2004

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Ubiquity Software, a leading provider of SIP-based communications software, today announced that former Vodafone UK Ltd. executive Chris Burke and former Accenture Canada Chairman of the Board Dave Seibel have joined the company's board of directors.

As Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Officer, Burke, a 22-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, held responsibility for all Vodafone UK Technology and Product architecture, design, procurement, development, deployment, support and operations. Prior to Vodafone, Burke served as Chief Technology Officer of UK-based Energis, a fixed line carrier, which during his tenure achieved an IPO and listing on the FTSE 40.

"Ubiquity Software is playing a critical role in the enablement of new converged applications across fixed and mobile networks," said Burke. "Their value proposition for quickly and cost-effectively creating new SIP-enabled services that generate new revenue streams for service providers is clear and compelling," said Burke.

Prior to his chairmanship at Accenture Canada, Seibel was President of Ottawa-based Synerlogic in 1987, which was acquired two years later by Accenture. Soon after, he became Managing Partner for Accenture's Ottawa Office and the Federal, Provincial and Municipal Government Market Unit in Canada, then Country Managing Director in 1996. He retired as Managing Director and Chairman of the Geographic Council in September 2003.

"Ubiquity provides a rich service creation environment for service providers and their application developer and integrator partners to create the next generation of customized multimedia applications," said Seibel. "I'm excited about the company's prospects and look forward to being a part of the team."

"We are proud to have Chris and Dave with us during this exciting time," said Ian McLaren, president and CEO of Ubiquity Software. "The convergence of wireline and wireless technologies creates a tremendous need for competitive differentiation among service providers. We will benefit from Chris' and Dave's industry experience in the global marketplace."
