Relizon Forms Alliance With PHG Technologies To Streamline Patient Identification Process

Business Wire, Dec 8, 2004

DAYTON, Ohio -- The Relizon Company today announced that it has signed a distributorship agreement with PHG Technologies LLC of Brentwood, Tenn., to provide its EasyID patient identification solution to hospitals across America. This strategic relationship allows Relizon to continue the evolution of its patient identification solutions in direct response to hospital needs.

EasyID is a patient identification and electronic document solution that offers dramatic cost savings by eliminating embossers, imprinters and preprinted forms, while improving information efficiency and workflow throughout the facility. Under the terms of the agreement, PHG Technologies will provide the software, systems and support for hospital implementations, while Relizon provides integrated form-label combinations and overall account management.

Relizon is a leading North American supplier of business process solutions for document management, billing and marketing fulfillment services. In the past year, Relizon has won contracts with three of the five largest hospital group purchasing organizations in the U.S., making it the fastest growing brand in health care document management.

"Patient identification is an increasingly critical process throughout the health care system. This alliance helps ensure that Relizon continues to provide a best practice solution for our health care customers," said Timothy Schriner, president of Relizon's U.S. Business Communications Group. "EasyID enables Relizon to further streamline the hospital admissions process and improve patient safety in a way that fits the budget of any sized hospital."

"PHG already has hundreds of successful installations in hospitals throughout the country," said Brian Moyer, PHG president. "Working with Relizon's health care document management experts across the U.S. will give us an even greater reach into the health care market."

EasyID allows print-on-demand of any document stored in the system through an easy to use browser-based interface. EasyID also includes an emergency downtime solution that gives hospitals the ability to create patient identification labels and forms, even if their registration system or network is unavailable.

EasyID lets hospitals create an exact electronic replica of a paper document. Once the document has been created, it can be directed to any supported printer on the network. Patient specific data can be automatically merged with the document, and parameters such as number of copies, paper type, paper source, and duplex printing can be specified.
