Flightstar Aircraft Services, Inc. was pleased to host the Department of Transportation Secretary, Norman Mineta, on January 21st, 2004. The purpose of Secretary Mineta's visit was to highlight how successful companies like Flightstar are good examples of the United States economic recovery and to show how a company can succeed and grow in these challenging economic times.

"Of all the maintenance, repair and overhaul companies Secretary Mineta could have chosen to visit, we are extremely proud that he chose Flightstar as the venue to reinforce the economic message President Bush summarized in the State of the Union Address," stated Jerry Hernandez, Flightstar's President.

After being greeted by Jerry Hernandez and other Flightstar executives and employees, Secretary Mineta toured the Flightstar facility at the Jacksonville International Airport. The tour included viewing one of the B727 aircraft that Flightstar is currently converting from a passenger to a cargo aircraft. The Secretary then conducted a press conference from Flightstar's hangar and answered questions from the media before departing.
