15th annual GTC
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 2004
He has been called "one of the most influential businessmen in America" by 60 Minutes. His vision and business acumen have made him one of the most influential and widely quoted leaders in the complex, fluid and fast-moving IT industry.
Scott McNealy, the tenacious and respected CEO of Sun Microsystems, will keynote the 15th annual Government Technology Conference (GTC) on Thursday, January 29 at 8:30 am in Ballroom A of the Austin Convention Center. GTC is the nation's leading and most respected technology event for state and local government and will run January 26 - 30.
McNealy, an amateur ice hockey player, shies away from controversial issues in the computer world about as much as he avoids a defenseman's check in the rink. His tenacity and willingness to address tough issues head on has earned him both respect and admiration. As he often says, "Without choice, there is no competition. Without competition, there is no innovation. And without innovation, you are left with very little."
McNealy is known for his provocative presentations and you won't want to miss his keynote. It's bound to rouse thoughts, challenge ideas and entertain.
In addition to McNealy's keynote, GTC features the largest technology expo in Central Texas; training classes on the latest technology and related policy issues; and a keynote by President Thomas Jefferson, portrayed by Humanities Scholar, Clay Jenkinson.
