GRAMMY Nominated Group Joins Nissan in Donating to Education

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 29, 2004
Nissan North America, Inc. is expanding its support of education with a $10,000 donation to a program connecting high school students with professionals in the music industry.
Nissan executives, along with help from the GRAMMY nominated group Bering Strait, presented the check to the GRAMMY In The Schools program at the Nashville International Auto & Truck Show. GRAMMY In The Schools educates high school students about the music industry providing them an opportunity to interact with music professionals representing a wide range of careers.

"Nissan has long been a supporter of programs like GRAMMY In The Schools that helps you people achieve the career objectives."

Bering Strait received their first GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Instrumental Performance for their original composition "Bering Strait" in January of 2003. The group is also the subject of a 90-minute documentary film that reveals their journey to Nashville from their hometown of Obninsk, Russia.
