Business Wire, July 12, 2004

NEW YORK -- Da Family/Blackground/Universal recording artist, JoJo, takes the #1 spot on Billboard's Top 40 Radio Chart with the hit single, "Leave (Get Out)." "Leave (Get Out)," which showcases the larger than life vocals of this teenage phenomenon, was produced by Soulshock and Karlin. At age 13, JoJo becomes the youngest solo artist to have a #1 record at Billboard Monitor. The old record was held by Britney Spears who was 16 when she went #1.

In addition to her success at radio, JoJo's 14 track self-titled debut CD entered at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart scanning over 95,000 units in its first week. USA Today named her "Artist On The Verge", Entertainment Weekly gave her album a "B" rating and People Magazine has dubbed her debut "not your average JoJo...'Leave (Get Out)' is destined to be the breakup anthem of the summer."

Notable tracks on "JOJO" include club hopper "Baby It's You" and a flashback to the early 90's with her rendition of SWV's "Weak." JoJo's early hype landed her spots on the Cingular Tour with other newcomers such as the Young Gunz and Fefe Dobson as well the opening slot for Usher's European tour.

"Leave (Get Out)" has held the #1 spot on AOL's Top 11 Songs for the last three weeks (6/18 - 7/8); meanwhile, JoJo's "Leave (Get Out)" video, which premiered on AOL's Kids Online First View, has remained in AOL's Top 11 chart for 8 weeks. To date, JoJo's Sessions@AOL performance and audio/video assets have been streamed over 8,170,000 times. In addition, JoJo's song and video have been played on LAUNCH 10.8 million times. JoJo's "Leave (Get Out)" was also the #1 most streamed video on LAUNCH for the entire month of June.

JoJo can be seen this afternoon on the syndicated show On-Air With Ryan Seacrest and guests on Live With Regis and Kelly on July 19th as well as the up and coming Fox teen show, The Menu, which debuts later in the summer. Other upcoming activities include the Nordstrom Mall Tour and U.S. radio tour dates.
