Business Wire, July 13, 2004
MENLO PARK, Calif. -- Nuance (Nasdaq:NUAN), the voice automation expert, announced today that it is naming 25-year technology industry veteran Glenn Cross to the position of senior vice president of sales and professional services.
"Glenn's high-technology sales experience will be invaluable to Nuance as we continue to drive the voice automation market forward," said Chuck Berger, president and CEO of Nuance. "He's built enterprise software sales organizations capable of meeting the needs of global customers, developed strong reseller and integrator channels, and helped top companies increase their market leadership positions. We're excited to have him on board."
Most recently, Cross was with ActivCard, Inc., a leading enterprise software and security firm, where he was senior vice president of global sales and customer service. Prior to ActivCard, Cross was senior vice president of sales, service and business development for Palm, Inc., where he helped grow the company into a $1.2 billion provider of hardware and software for handheld computing. Additionally, Cross has held senior executive positions at Sun Microsystems, where he headed sales, business development, field marketing, training and operations for iPlanet, and was vice president of sales for the company's Javasoft division. While at iPlanet, he was responsible for nearly a half-billion-dollars of worldwide direct and partner sales. And at JavaSoft, he took the technology from inception to market dominance in just two years. He also managed sales efforts at Lotus/IBM, Adobe and other high technology companies.
In April, Nuance gave revenue guidance, for its second quarter ended June 30, of $13 million to $14.5 million. The company reaffirms that its revenue for the second quarter will be within this range.
