Former EDS President of Global Strategic Alliances Joins Vignette Leadership Team

AUSTIN, Texas -- Vignette Names Industry Veteran Jeff Gilliam Senior Vice President of Global Professional Services
Vignette Corp. (Nasdaq:VIGN) today announced that it has named Jeff Gilliam as senior vice president of global professional services, a role in which he will help drive the company's continued worldwide leadership in implementing customer solutions that drive business efficiency. Gilliam comes to Vignette from Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS), where he was most recently president of EDS Global Strategic Alliances.

As president of EDS Global Strategic Alliances, Gilliam was responsible for worldwide partnering with information technology industry bellwethers such as Cisco Systems, Dell, Sun Microsystems and Xerox Corporation. Immediately prior, Gilliam was president of EDS' U.S. western region for operations solutions, where Gilliam managed a $1 billion operation and drove almost $2 billion in additional business opportunities.

Gilliam joined EDS in 1985 as a system engineer and was promoted to various management and account management positions. In 1993 Gilliam became chief operating officer of startup More Inc., leading it through development and introduction of a Windows-based bank automation product while transitioning the company from an implementation organization to a product company and re-defining its professional services methodologies to drive measurably increased customer satisfaction. Gilliam rejoined EDS in 1996 to hold various positions including account executive for Philips Semiconductors and division vice president for the high technology business unit.
