Business Wire, July 13, 2004
LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Collaboration with Customers, Partners Designed to Accelerate Software Quality Optimization Innovation
Segue Software, Inc. (NASDAQ-SCM: SEGU), the leader in software quality optimization, today announced the formation of its Customer Advisory Council (CAC), a formal platform for Segue, its customers and partners to communicate and exchange ideas around best practices for software quality optimization. The Council's goal is to provide direct feedback to Segue that will evolve the Segue(R) product portfolio to best serve the needs of global corporations seeking more effective ways to deploy high quality software applications, reduce business risk and increase return on investment.
Segue's Customer Advisory Council is comprised of approximately 25 companies from the Global 2000, representing a variety of vertical markets. The common link amongst all member companies is a strong commitment to software quality, supported by the vision of software quality as a strategic business initiative and competitive advantage. Representative CAC members include executives from ACS State Healthcare, America Online, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, DAK, First Data, Hewlett-Packard, Otto, Sparda DV, T-Systems, Staples, Varian Medical, webMethods and others.
"Staples values its membership on Segue's Customer Advisory Council," said Kathy Murray, senior manager of quality management at Staples. "Segue's software products support Staples' commitment to making it easy to buy office products by ensuring that the quality of our applications meet business and customer expectations. Our testing experiences provide real-world input for Segue's product development plans. In return, Staples is privy to product plans and enhancements from Segue that will help Staples to deploy well-tested, high performance applications."
Meeting on a regular basis, the CAC brings together QA executives with a wide range of skills and experiences to their advisory roles, discussing industry trends, business challenges, QA requirements, products and services. The CAC provides input and guidance that will be reflected in product development plans for Segue's software quality optimization solutions. This intimate level of customer/partner interaction and information exchange will help to guide development of the next generation of Segue's products and solutions, ensuring the Silk product line continues to be market-driven in its evolution.
"We are pleased to have participation on the CAC by such a high caliber of quality assurance, software development and business management executives from many prestigious, enterprise-level companies," said Joseph Krivickas, CEO and president of Segue Software. "It is vital for Segue to have a complete understanding of the markets we serve and the challenges our customers face. The CAC formalizes our ability to understand real-world quality issues and trends occurring in the area of software quality. With that knowledge, we can accelerate the development of market-driven products to meet the challenges our customers will face, while providing features and functions that create a compelling differentiation for Segue."
