Business Wire, July 14, 2004

ELKRIDGE, Md. -- General Physics to Continue its 15-Year Relationship of Providing Environmental Engineering Support to the U.S. Army, Aberdeen Proving Ground

Global performance solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), a subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE:GPX), has been awarded a competitively bid Base Environmental Support Contract (BEST 2) from the U.S. Army, Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). This award is the third consecutive follow-on contract to GP's original support contract with APG, and the replacement for GP's current BEST 1 contract. Like the BEST 1 contract, the BEST 2 contract consists of a base year and four one year option periods; there is no maximum dollar ceiling on the BEST 2 contract. Under the BEST 1 contract, GP was awarded more than 150 delivery orders valued at more than $107 million. In 2003, this contract yielded approximately $22.5 million in revenue.

Services to be provided under this contract include training, environmental regulatory compliance consulting, public relations/community outreach, engineering design, system operations, environmental contamination assessment, contamination remediation, and shoreline stabilization. This contract is an important component of GP's operations as it allows GP to continue its long standing support of the U.S. Army at APG as well as provides GP with a flexible contract vehicle that can be used in providing environmental engineering support to other Federal agencies.
