Business Wire, July 15, 2004
NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. -- LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, the leading client development company for the legal profession, has signed an agreement with American Lawyer Media (ALM), the nation's premier source of news and information for the legal industry, in which the Martindale.com Lawyer Locator will serve as the exclusive third-party lawyer directory available on ALM's Law.com Web site. Law.com is the leading provider of legal news and information on the Web.
Under terms of the agreement, the Martindale-Hubbell search box will be displayed on the Law.com homepage, as well as placed on select pages throughout the site. Law.com visitors will be able to conduct attorney searches with one-click access to the renowned Martindale-Hubbell database of more than 1 million lawyers and law firms.
In addition to the placement of Martindale-Hubbell's attorney directory, Law.com will also create new links from each law firm's name in select ALM "Firm Rankings" lists (e.g., AmLaw 100, Global 100, NLJ Top 250, Who Represents Corporate America) to that firm's Martindale-Hubbell profile. When readers of these lists click on a specific firm's name, they will instantly receive the firm's biographical listing from martindale.com.
"Law.com continues to be a popular destination for corporate counsel and other legal professionals who are seeking information about lawyers and law firms on the Web," said Michael Gibeault, vice president of ratings and strategic relations for New Providence, N.J.-based LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. "This agreement allows us to further extend our database into the hands of these individuals who are reviewing the credentials of lawyers and buying legal services on a daily basis."
