Marathon Technologies Partners with XTEND Communications and Brock Solutions to Deliver Low Cost High Availability for Windows Servers

Business Wire, July 21, 2004

BOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Marathon Technologies Corporation, the only developer and supplier of fault- and disaster-tolerant solutions for industry standard Microsoft(R) Windows(R) environments, has joined with two partners--XTEND Communications Corporation, a provider of computer and local area network-based telecommunications systems for public safety, healthcare, hospitality, and corporate environments and Brock Solutions, Inc., an engineering solutions company focused on process control--to offer simple, cost-effective high availability for Windows servers.

"We are very excited about partnering with these companies representing two very different industries and applications," said George C. Tranos, President and CEO of Marathon Technologies. "These partners will play a critical role in making the Marathon FTvirtual Server(TM) software the IT-standard for high availability for Windows servers."

"We see a growing need for fault and disaster tolerance for Windows servers in the telecommunications industry where being 'off line' is not an option," said Robert Charland, XTEND's Senior Vice President, Marketing. "Marathon software helps us meet that need with a simple solution that does not require any modification to our software or server hardware. That's a competitive advantage for us."

"The Marathon FTvirtual Server product line supports our efforts to help manufacturers improve their efficiency and productivity through process control," said Vivienne Ojala, President, Brock Solutions. "The Marathon product enables us to deliver process control systems on flexible, cost-effective Windows servers that are fully protected from downtime."
