L-3 Communications Teams with Raytheon Aircraft Company to Improve Military Parts Support

FARNBOROUGH, England -- L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) today announced that it has teamed with Raytheon Aircraft Company in a five year material/supply support agreement for aftermarket support of the Raytheon T-6A Texan II primary training aircraft.

L-3 Communications' Vertex Aerospace division (L-3 Vertex), based in Madison, Mississippi, will be the exclusive material/supply provider for the T-6A, which will improve support of international operators and increase the quantity and range of spare parts and technical services available for U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy T-6A fleets. L-3 Vertex provides material support under subcontract to Raytheon Aircraft for all domestic T-6A aircraft delivered to the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy through the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS) program. The JPATS program calls for 780 aircraft to be delivered to the joint services.

The Hellenic Air Force (HAF) operates 45 T-6A aircraft and the NATO Flying Training Canada (NFTC) operates 24 aircraft.

The two companies have a long history partnering to support Raytheon/Beech military aircraft. L-3 Vertex provides full, lifecycle support to supply and maintain the T-34C Mentor, T-44 Pegasus, the T-1A Jayhawk, and various models of the C-12 - all built by Raytheon Aircraft.

"Customers will be able to decrease their lead time for both parts purchases and parts repair services through our leverage of factory support and extensive FAA-approved repair station capabilities."

Raytheon Aircraft designs, manufactures, markets and supports Beechcraft and Hawker aircraft for the world's commercial, military and regional airline markets.
