Mantas Best Value Routing Technology Balances Traditional and Next Generation Cost and Quality for Telcos

Business Wire, July 22, 2004

HERNDON, Va. -- Mantas, Inc. announces the release of Best Value Routing version 2.5 (BVR) that will provide the highest possible Quality of Service (QoS) to traditional telecommunications carriers and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service providers that use next generation networks, while maintaining a strict bottom line.

Service providers in the telecommunications industry are ultimately concerned with two very important phrases: 'lowest price' and 'best quality.' Historically, the two have not always gone hand-in-hand. Carriers are forced to either provide the best service possible for a higher fee, or use an alternate carrier that is less expensive, but does not have a proven QoS.

Unlike conventional solutions, Mantas' BVR addresses key issues for global carriers who use next generation networks. The enhanced VoIP soft switch support allows carriers to make best use of their network assets by delivering a higher volume of calls at a reduced cost. BVR also enables management of international and domestic route partners on one unified platform, reducing the time to implement dial code and rate changes from multiple carriers thereby increasing exposure to higher margins.

"As we began to develop the new version of BVR, we realized that our clients were going to need greater functionality and quantifiable results," said Adam Maghrouri, Head of Telecom for Mantas. "We were also aware of the need for the platform to be adaptable to the rapidly growing technology of VoIP."

Additional highlights of BVR are the Advanced Carrier Intelligent Networks Management that addresses issues surrounding local and wireless number portability and Flexible Trunk Group Prioritization that allows carriers to customize call handling capacity for multiple trunk groups to effectively eliminate call failures.

The new version also includes: Flexible Switch and Partition Management for large networks that allows carriers to customize routing policies via a unique rules-based engine to increase the rate of response due to market condition changes; Advanced Vendor Contract Management that administers all aspects of interconnect partners' (ICP) contracts; and the 10-digit Routing Engine that provides support for extended digit routing allowing carriers to implement specialized services for business customers and calling card platform implementations at the line level.
