Business Wire, July 22, 2004
WILMINGTON, Del. -- e-DMZ Security's Products Division today announced that DuPont (NYSE:DD) has selected the Password Auto Repository(TM) (PAR) for administrative password management and control. The PAR is the only operations tool available today that offers a comprehensive solution that includes the release, change, and verification of critical passwords like 'root' and 'administrator.'
"The PAR provides a complete solution, including secure storage and changing of the managed system passwords," states Larry Brock, Chief Security Officer for DuPont. "The automated approach allows us to leverage this solution across multiple environments, giving us a standardized approach for this critical function. With capabilities like High Availability, token support, and underlying AES256 encryption, we feel this is an enterprise class solution that provides the availability we require."
The Password Auto Repository provides individual accountability, dual control, and a strong audit trail for the changing and release of shared administrative IDs such as 'root' on UNIX and 'Administrator' on Windows. As a Fortune 100 chemical/industrial leader, DuPont chose the PAR to assist in ensuring key audit concepts like dual control and individual accountability.
"DuPont has continued to demonstrate its leadership concerning safety and security," notes Kris Zupan, Chief Executive Officer for e-DMZ Security. "DuPont is a leader, and with PAR they have shown that they are taking the control of administrative IDs and passwords very seriously. They continue to raise the bar for their industry for security and control."
The Password Auto Repository is a scalable appliance-based solution that can manage up to 10,000 far systems and includes features like High Availability, strong auditing, and AES256 encryption. It offers a secure release mechanism for passwords, and automatically changes the password on the managed system based on the parameters controlled by the customer.
