TechSmith Products Added to GSA Schedule; Industry-Leading Screen Capture, Recording, and User-Experience Testing Software Available to Government Buyers
Business Wire, July 26, 2004
OKEMOS, Mich. -- TechSmith Corp., the world's leading provider of screen capture and recording solutions, today announced that it's suite of software tools is now available for direct purchase by government buyers on the GSA Schedule.
Hundreds of federal offices, as well as thousands of state and local agencies, rely on TechSmith products everyday to streamline processes, archive important materials, and improve employee productivity. Government buyers who wish to purchase TechSmith products may do so via the Programmer's Paradise contract (GS-35F-0316M).
TechSmith offers three main products. SnagIt is the world's most popular screen capture utility with more than seven million users. Its point-and-click simplicity and ability to grab any image or editable text from a computer screen make SnagIt invaluable for government users who are tasked with keeping detailed documentation. Camtasia Studio is an easy-to-use screen recording solution that enables government organizations to implement e-Learning initiatives as well as comply with new training requirements required by Sarbanes-Oxley and other legislation. Morae is user-experience testing software. It gives agencies a convenient and affordable solution for testing government Web sites to ensure compliance with usability requirements. It is also being used to foster the Bush administration's push for citizen-centered e-government.
"Government employees are constantly being asked to modernize their daily operations and update their information technology tools," said Jim Hidlay, Director of Business Development for TechSmith. "By making our products more accessible, we hope to expand our existing presence in government offices by helping public employees address their day-to-day requirements and strategic goals."
The U.S. Treasury Department has already eliminated $750,000 in off-site training expenses this year by using Camtasia Studio to create Web-based training modules for more than 400 Internal Revenue Service agents nationwide.
"We're excited to have TechSmith's enormously popular products as part of the Programmer's Paradise GSA contract," said Vito Legrottaglie, Vice President of Information Systems at Programmer's Paradise. "By being part of our government contract, TechSmith's products will be available to government buyers at extremely competitive pricing, with great customer service, and quick delivery."
More than 1000 federal customers have purchased TechSmith's products this year alone. Among them are the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Justice, Labor, Transportation and Treasury. Other users include the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Army and Navy, FBI, and Environmental Protection Agency.
