Wellogix Inc. Announces that Wellogix and SAP will Provide Marathon with Integrated Solutions for Enhanced Purchase to Pay Functionality
Business Wire, July 27, 2004
HOUSTON -- Wellogix Inc. announced today that Wellogix and SAP will provide Marathon Oil Company's ("Marathon") upstream procurement organization with business solutions to enhance its purchase to pay process for both supplies and complex services. Through SAP NetWeaver(TM), SAP's open integration and application platform, the solutions integrate mySAP(TM) Supplier Relationship Management ("mySAP SRM") capabilities with the Wellogix Complex Services Management Suite(SM).
The integrated package will enable Marathon (a wholly owned subsidiary of Marathon Oil Corporation) to improve spend capture, increase collaboration with valued suppliers, streamline its internal reconciliation effort and complement overall Sarbanes/Oxley compliance protocol. According to Noel Garza, vice president of Global Procurement for Marathon Oil Company, "After reviewing different software functionality, it became clear to our team and management that by integrating mySAP SRM with the Wellogix eField-Ticket(SM) module, we would accomplish our objectives."
Ike Epley, CEO of Wellogix said, "Marathon has invested substantial financial and human resources in their commitment to SAP(R) solution functionality. Combining mySAP SRM with our thorough industry understanding and focus on complex services creates the best solution for Marathon's needs."
"SAP recognizes a need in the market to address expenditures on complex services procurement," said Peter Maier, vice president, Industry Business Unit for Chemicals, Mining, and Oil & Gas, SAP AG. "By leveraging Marathon's existing ERP framework with point to point integration through mySAP SRM, complemented by Wellogix, we will provide an economical and timely solution to meeting those objectives. Further, for the upstream oil & gas industry, we see this fitting nicely into our xApp vision for our Integrated Exploration and Production offering."
