Business Wire, July 6, 2004

HOUSTON -- Wesley E. Wright has been elected to the Board of Directors of the 4,800-member National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Mr. Wright's election to the NAELA Board follows two decades of distinguished service to elderly and disabled clients. A recognized leader in the Texas legal community, he established his Houston-based law firm in 1982. Wright Abshire, Attorneys now is the largest elder-law firm in Texas. Mr. Wright currently serves as president of the Texas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, is a past president of the Disability and Elder Law Attorneys Association (DELAA) and a past chair of the Probate, Trusts and Estates Section of the Houston Bar Association.

Mr. Wright is a consistent advocate of elder law education. He works to keep other attorneys, elder citizens, caregivers, and guardians informed about the special legal issues facing older citizens and people with special needs. "The laws affecting those who have reached a mature age are complex," says Mr. Wright, "but for those who are willing to learn and utilize them, there are great opportunities available."

Mr. Wright is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He also is Certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation.
