Live365 Launches Radio365; New Media Player for Windows and Mac Provides Ready Access to Thousands of Internet Radio Stations
Business Wire, July 6, 2004
FOSTER CITY, Calif. -- Radio365 for the Mac Allows Listeners to Easily Purchase Music from the iTunes Music Store
Live365, the largest Internet radio network, announced today the launch of Radio365, its new application-based Internet radio player for the Windows and Mac platforms. Radio365 allows desktop access to thousands of Live365 stations, with many channels in full CD-quality and all without pop-ups or other visual advertisements. Listeners can browse stations by genre or search the network for stations that play a particular artist, album or track and similar offerings.
In addition, Radio365 links Internet radio with digital downloads, enabling listeners to purchase tracks of interest from a station's playlist. Listeners click a "buy" button to locate the track in the iTunes Music Store and, if registered with iTunes, can purchase the track instantly with a second click. Initially, this functionality is available only for the Mac version of Radio365.
"We are pleased to offer a simple and effective way for listeners to access our network, directly from their desktop, without a web browser," said David Porter, director of business development for Live365. "Our flavor of Internet radio delivers the optimal approach to music discovery -- combining traditional radio's 'lean-back' ease with the informed programming of savvy music fans from around the globe. Radio365 for the Mac completes this experience by allowing users to legally purchase and download songs they discover."
Listeners can download Radio365 at www.live365.com/radio365 for a free 35 hour trial. After the trial, users can purchase Radio365 for a one-time fee of $14.95 or continue to use Radio365 with access to fewer stations. Alternatively, for as little as $3.65 per month, listeners can subscribe to Live365's Preferred Membership, which includes Radio365 and unlimited access to the Live365 network without audio ads.
