Program Launched to Match Companies with Japanese Partners; BIZMATCH Service Being Offered for Japan's Largest IT and Consumer Electronics Show CEATEC Japan 2004 Show, October 5 - 9, 2004

NEW YORK -- The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) announced it is launching a "BIZMATCH" business-partnering program in conjunction with the Japan Electronics & Information Technology Industries Associations (JEITA) to nurture ventures between U.S. and Canadian IT, consumer electronics and software companies and Japanese companies. Participants include Matsushita Electric, Toshiba, Sony, NTT DoCoMo, Hitachi, Kyocera, Fujitsu, NEC, Omron, Mitsubishi Electric, Sharp, Sanyo, Pioneer, Victor, KDDI, TDK, Rohm and other JEITA members.

The BIZMATCH Program is being prepared for the CEATEC Japan 2004 consumer electronics and IT show being held in Tokyo from October 5 -9. "CEATEC is Japan's largest IT and consumer electronics show," said Oren Bernstein of JETRO New York, "and we are very excited to be matching companies together at the show to explore new ventures and partnerships."

--CEATEC (Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies) Japan 2004 will be held from October 5 - 9, 2004 at Makuhari Messe (Nippon Convention Center), conveniently located between central Tokyo and Narita International Airport.

--CEATEC was created in 2000 with the merger of COM Japan and the Japan Electronics Show. Last year, the show hosted over 190,000 attendees.

--U.S. and Canadian companies in the IT, consumer electronics and software fields are being invited to apply to participate in the free, customized JETRO/JEITA BIZMATCH business-partnering program, which will arrange meetings with executives of select Japanese companies.

JETRO and JEITA will cover participating executives exhibition entrance fee, and the costs and logistics of setting up the meetings. Participating executives will be responsible for travel/transportation, room and board, and personal expenses.
