92 5 XTU's Evans and Andie and NBC 10 Team up with the Special Olympics to Commemorate the Start of the 2004 Summer Olympics with Celebrity Torch Run on August 13th

WHO: Evans and Andie, hosts of the morning show on 92 5 XTU,
Philadelphia's Country Station, NBC 10, and Special Olympics
Pennsylvania.
WHAT: Coinciding with the start of the 2004 Summer Olympics in
Greece, Scott Evans and Andie Summers of XTU, NBC 10 and
Special Olympics Pennsylvania are sponsoring a 9.25 mile
celebrity run to raise awareness within the community for the
Special Olympics.
WHERE: Beginning at the Philadelphia Art Museum and concluding at the
Loews Hotel at 1200 Market Street, Evans and Andie will kick
off the event, running with a commemorative torch for half a
mile before handing it off to a local athlete from the Special
Olympics. The run will continue with athletes from the Special
Olympics and local celebrities, including Phillies General
Manager Ed Wade, Coach Jay Wright from Villanova University
and Todd Fedoruk from the Flyers, alternately carrying the
torch for the duration of the run. The event will conclude at
the Loews Hotel with NBC 10's Amy Freeze and Special Olympic
athlete Liz Smith carrying the torch for the last mile of the
run. Evans & Andie and NBC 10 will be broadcasting live from
the start and finish of the run. In conjunction with the run,
tee shirts will be available for purchase to support the
Special Olympics.
WHEN: The run will begin Friday, August 13, 2004 at 7:30 a.m. and
will conclude at approximately 10:00 a.m. in time for the Amy
Freeze's live broadcast at the beginning of NBC 10's the 10
Show. Spectators are encouraged to show their support by
cheering runners on at both the start and finish of the run.
