Xybernaut to Co-Chair MECHROB 2004 Special Session; Conference Focuses on Industrial Applications for Wearable Computing

FAIRFAX, Va. & AACHEN, Germany -- Xybernaut(R) Corporation (NASDAQ:XYBR) today announced that it will co-chair a conference on industrial applications for wearable computing to be held in September in Aachen, Germany. The conference will be co-chaired with the University of Bremen's Center for Computing Technologies.
The purpose of the special session, called the Mechatronics & Robotics Conference, is to address scientific research on the practical applications in industry for mobile and wearable computing solutions. Dr. Edwin Vogt, European Director for Xybernaut will co-chair the session with Michael Boronowsky, Managing Director of the Center for Computing Technologies.
"In recent years wearable computing has become a reality and indispensable tool in many industry sectors," said Vogt. "As its use becomes more and more pervasive, we believe it's important for leaders in industry and science to share their ideas and research findings."
Vogt noted that the conference will not only cover wearable computing applications, but also software development for wearables; hardware solutions, such as wearable platforms and new display technologies; privacy and security applications and wearable interfaces.
