NEW YORK & PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 11, 2004
MetaMatrix, the leading provider of information integration and data management technology, and Librados Inc., the company that's changing the economics of the adapter business, today announced that MetaMatrix has selected the Librados family of pre-built JCA Adapters to meet their mission critical integration requirements with enterprise systems such as SAP R/3, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Siebel and others. Librados continues to add marquee software vendors to its growing list as it answers the need for low-cost, royalty-free, standards-based adapter solution.
MetaMatrix lists companies such as SAP AG who OEM MetaMatrix technology into SAP NetWeaver and customers from the Federal Government to Merrill Lynch and other Global 1000 Enterprises. When MetaMatrix selected an adapter solution they knew that they would have to deliver the same level of performance and mission critical security their customers had come to expect from their integration solutions.
"Before selecting Librados, we had spent many months looking for a viable application adapter solution that would be easy for us to embed in our existing product suite, and deliver the high levels of performance and security that our customers expect," said Michael Lang, Executive Vice President of Development and Technical Operations of MetaMatrix. "Other adapter solutions that we looked at weren't able to meet our performance requirements, and implementation was difficult and time-consuming. In addition, other adapter vendors required high OEM pre-payments, as well as royalty payments for every adapter that we sold embedded with our solution whereas Librados' royalty-free source code license was just a small fraction of what other adapter vendors were asking for."
Librados recently announced that SAP AG had certified the Librados Adapter version 2.5 for SAP Web Application Server Release 6.20, including the SAP(R) R/3(R) Enterprise Release 4.70 software solution. This certification helps guarantee that the Librados Adapter integrates in a fast, cost-efficient way with the latest releases of SAP R/3.
"We were also reassured by the fact that Librados' adapter for SAP R/3, just like MetaMatrix's own solution for SAP NetWeaver, had received SAP certification," added Lang. "After putting Librados' adapters through a rigorous evaluation at our development center, we became a customer."
Major corporations such as British American Tobacco, Neopost and Swiss Life are using Librados' Adapters for the critical last mile of application integration.
"We are delighted with this deal," said David Richards, CEO of Librados. "MetaMatrix is a very big player in the EII space and has some spectacular OEM deals such as SAP. This sends a loud and clear message out to the marketplace that vendors no longer have to pay hefty pre-pays or royalty payments to OEM adapters."
