PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 2004
Industry's Lowest-Cost Production Test Solution, BIST Assist 6.4,
Maximizes Investment in Agilent 93000 SOC Series
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) today announced that Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a leading supplier of core logic chipsets, has purchased manufacturing test solutions for at-speed test of PCI Express devices. By upgrading the company's existing Agilent 93000 SOC with the newly introduced BIST Assist 6.4 parameterized loopback cards, SiS will benefit from Agilent's single scalable architecture and maximize its capital equipment investment.
The order from SiS includes multiple NP2500 channels for full I/O characterization and the BIST Assist 6.4 for low-cost, high-volume manufacturing test. NP2500 will enable SiS to validate its designs at data rates up to 3.2 Gb/s. The BIST Assist cards, with bandwidth to cover data rates up to 6.4 Gb/s, use a combination of built-in self-test (BIST) and integrated automated test equipment (ATE) technology to maintain a high level of fault coverage at a much lower cost.
"This investment in high-speed test solutions is part of the continuous efforts of SiS in both technology innovation and quality assurance required to compete in this market," said Michael Chen, chief technology officer of SiS.
"We are entering a new frontier in ATE, and Agilent continues to work very closely with our customers to provide the best solutions for the highest-speed test coverage at the lowest cost," said Tom Newsom, vice president and general manager of Agilent's SOC Business Unit. "As a result, our 93000 single scalable platform has been recognized as the only ATE solution by Intel's Developer Network for PCI Express."
