Vericept Customers and Industry Experts Share Enterprise Risk

Management Best Practices for Protection of Information Assets,

Company Brand and Reputation

Vericept, the leading provider of enterprise risk management solutions, today announced it will host three Enterprise Risk Management Webinars to educate companies on best practices for dramatically reducing and managing insider risk to protect information assets, company brand and reputation. Vericept will be joined by current customers and industry experts to discuss fraud and identity theft, intellectual property assets and HIPAA compliance. The Webinars will take place at 10:30 a.m. MST on Wednesday, June 30, Wednesday, July 28 and Wednesday, August 25.

The Enterprise Risk Management Webinars will focus on sharing ideas and information on some of the best practices for assessing business risk exposure in areas such as identity theft, regulation compliance violations, corporate governance concerns, internal policy infractions, information leaks and unacceptable Internet use. The Webinars will also address educating companies on how poor risk management can lead to financial and legal liabilities, as well as damage to an organization's brand and reputation. The Webinars will include a five-minute overview of the featured speakers and a 30-40-minute presentation, followed by a question and answer session.

"Nearly 70 percent of all identity theft cases start with theft of personal data from an employee," said Judith Collins, Ph.D. and professor at Michigan State University. "People envision identity thieves as hacking Web sites or digging through dumpsters, but it's frightening to see the statistics that show it's the trusted users who are often at fault for these crimes. Companies needs to be cognizant of this reality and put better security measures in place for monitoring what's going on across their networks."

"In the electronic information age, executives need to be more aware than ever of what's happening on their networks," said Brett Schklar, senior director of marketing and product management, Vericept. "With almost 600 customer implementations under our belt, we have seen alarming evidence of network misuse - intentional and unintentional - that could cost businesses millions in lawsuits, and more seriously, permanently damage companies' brands and reputations. As a leader in this space, we're focused on educating companies about how best to assess their risk and the importance of a content monitoring solution that can protect companies from this type of damage."
