LTX Announces Fusion DX - the First Desktop SOC Tester; New Fusion Configuration Extends LTX's Scalable, Single-Platform Architecture
Business Wire, June 21, 2004
WESTWOOD, Mass. -- LTX, a leading provider of semiconductor test equipment, today announced the release of Fusion DX, the first desktop tester for system-on-a-chip (SOC) devices. Built on LTX's scalable, single-platform architecture, Fusion DX provides a powerful ATE solution that can be used for both design validation and volume production testing. Fusion DX is available immediately, and is currently installed at various customers running volume production in both wafer sort and final test applications.
Versatile Desktop SOC Tester
The introduction of Fusion DX extends SOC ATE to the desktop, offering complete ATE capabilities and the flexibility to be deployed at any point from design to production. Fusion DX's launch marks the first time SOC ATE has been scaled to address the requirements of design centers and engineering labs, thereby accelerating device transition into production.
In production, Fusion DX offers the same performance and throughput advantages for low to mid pincount devices as other Fusion configurations. In addition, DX is a practical replacement for older test systems that have become difficult or expensive to maintain. Its compact size can also enable a zero-footprint production solution when integrated into other equipment, including test systems, probers or handlers.
Leveraging the Fusion Platform
Fusion DX offers a wide range of capabilities, including full-featured digital, an array of DSP instruments and a broad line of voltage/current sources. This powerful instrument set is employed in Fusion's installed base, including numerous systems at subcontract test providers worldwide. With DX, these proven Fusion capabilities are now available on the desktop - without the infrastructure and facilities normally required by ATE.
"LTX's Fusion DX represents another first for the semiconductor test industry," said Roger Blethen, chairman and chief executive officer of LTX. "With DX, our customers can have the same type of advanced ATE capabilities that today power their production test floors, right on their desktops. Now more than ever, customers can take full advantage of the scalability and single-platform economics provided by the Fusion platform."
