Intuitive to OEM Webplan RapidResponse'TM' Software: ERP Provider to Gain Competitive Advantage by Offering Response Management Option to Small and Midsize Manufacturers
Business Wire, June 21, 2004
OTTAWA -- Webplan Corporation, a provider of comprehensive software and service solutions for rapid Response Management, filling the reality gap between planning and execution for manufacturers, today announced that Intuitive Manufacturing Systems has signed an agreement to OEM Webplan RapidResponse.
"Change is a constant in manufacturing," said Chuck Gillam, president at Intuitive. "The addition of RapidResponse to our solution will help our customers achieve increased productivity and lower costs by having the ability to respond quickly and accurately to these ever present changes."
The Intuitive ERP solution provides Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), decision support, E-Commerce, and support for businesses that operate at a single location or with multiple plants. The integration of RapidResponse will provide Intuitive customers with multi-site visibility and alerting, what-if analysis and scorecarding to effectively respond to changes in supply, demand, products and capacity.
RapidResponse delivers innovative technology that enables manufacturers to anticipate potential problems, instantly review multiple action alternatives, and align operations to rapidly and effectively master the reality gap. The RapidResponse unique architecture connects directly to front- and back-end systems, supporting a continuous flow of information across multiple sites and optimizing the value of existing infrastructure.
The technologies will be integrated to allow two-way data flow. ERP data coming into RapidResponse's real-time data model allows manufacturers to have a single view of the truth across their operations. This in-turn facilitates the rapid response capabilities. Once a decision has been made within RapidResponse, transactions can be immediately transferred to the ERP system for instant action.
"Manufacturers face a constant variety of changes that can negatively impact margins and customer satisfaction levels," said Douglas Colbeth, chairman and chief executive officer at Webplan. "Intuitive will provide small to midsize manufacturers a competitive advantage while Webplan benefits from a new distribution channel."
