RadView Software's Support for JavaScript and Mozilla Complements Sun Microsystems' Java Desktop System
Business Wire, June 24, 2004
BURLINGTON, Mass. -- - Pairing a Plus for the Web Application Development Community -
RadView(TM) Software Ltd. (Nasdaq: RDVW), a leading provider of solutions for verifying the performance, scalability and integrity of business-critical Web applications is teaming up with Sun Microsystems to provide full testing capabilities to the Java Desktop System in a future release of TestView. This pairing will provide Web application developers the ability to program, test and deploy entirely in the Java Desktop System.
RadView, a member of the Java Desktop Early Adoption Program, was an early supporter of Sun Microsystems' technology by using JavaScript as the standard language for writing and sharing test scripts in its WebLOAD and WebFT products. The use of JavaScript enables integrated test and development teams to share information and shortens the learning cycle when a user first purchases any of the RadView tools.
In addition to JavaScript support, RadView supports the Mozilla browser, Java components and pure Java scripts. RadView's WebLOAD and WebFT support J2EE-based application servers (BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, and JBoss) as well.
"Sun is grateful for RadView's longtime support and looks forward to the added value our joint customers will receive with TestView's integration with the Java Desktop System," said Curtis Sasaki, Vice President, Desktop Solutions, at Sun Microsystems. "TestView's comprehensive Web application and load testing services will be a huge benefit for developers and quality assurance teams using the tools included in the Java Desktop System."
"Sun and RadView are pursuing a joint agreement to ensure the Web application developers and testers have the best products available to them when building simple or complex Java based applications," added Bill Spain, Vice President of Sales at RadView Software. "RadView's products enable quality test processes and automated test execution, making the test and QA professional highly efficient by reducing the amount of manual work needed during a test cycle."
RadView's TestView is a comprehensive Web testing solution that integrates RadView's functional, load and scalability testing, and test management software in a central console. TestView combines intelligent and dynamic results reporting with the ability to define and run an unlimited number of tests in a distributed environment. This provides users with the flexibility to easily run both simple and extensive, complex tests. The reporting capability lets users review their test results from the highest summary level to the most detailed individual test scripts. This granular level of reporting facilitates communication between test and development engineers and speeds the debugging of applications. TestView is integrated with Merant's PVCS defect-tracking tools, allowing users to post issue reports and software bugs into any Web-based defect-tracking system.
RadView's TestView Web Testing Suite consists of WebLOAD(TM) 7.0, WebFT(TM) 4.0 and TestView Manager. The suite is combined into a single installation, reducing start-up time. The suite, along with all of RadView's other products, is available through RadView's flexible licensing program, allowing companies to purchase just what they need for any given project.
