Caesars Entertainment Paves the Way for Opportunity Village's Third Work Campus

Business Wire, June 25, 2004

LAS VEGAS -- Caesars Entertainment Inc. (NYSE: CZR), one of the world's leading gaming companies, announced today that the Caesars Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to Opportunity Village, Southern Nevada's leading not-for-profit organization serving people with intellectual disabilities.

The grant represents the lead corporate gift to assist Opportunity Village's efforts to build a third, $26-million dollar campus in southwest Las Vegas. The new campus will feature a large Life and Career Development Center, Leisure Recreation Complex, and an Administration Building.

"Opportunity Village is a perfect non-profit partner for the Caesars Foundation," said Caesars Executive Vice President Steven F. Bell. "The Foundation supports organizations that provide life-changing job training and self-sufficiency skills to the people of the communities in which we work and live. We're proud to further our long and productive relationship with Opportunity Village through this grant."

For more than a quarter century, Caesars Entertainment and its Las Vegas properties have supported Opportunity Village and its clients through philanthropic contributions, employee volunteerism and vocational opportunities for its intellectually disabled clients. Caesars Palace for many years has served as a host property for the Concert of Love, an annual event benefiting Opportunity Village. In addition to providing showroom locations, Caesars also has donated costs for production and catering. The 2004 Concert of Love featured Grammy-award winning artist Celine Dion, who donated all the proceeds of a special performance of "A New Day..." at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace to Opportunity Village. Proceeds from the concert, combined with this grant, have yielded more than $1 million in support for Opportunity Village this year.

Established in 1954, Opportunity Village is Nevada's largest private provider of vocational assessment and training, supported and independent employment, advocacy, and leisure programs that serve nearly 600 people with intellectual disabilities in the Las Vegas Valley community.

The non-profit organization comprises two work, training and employment campuses, more than 30 job sites and a thrift store in downtown Las Vegas. The third campus is scheduled to open in 2006.

"For years, people with profound disabilities at Opportunity Village have been putting together promotional buttons, collating materials, shrink wrapping, labeling, mailing, and cutting paper to create notepads for all of Caesars' Las Vegas properties," said Linda Smith, chief development officer at Opportunity Village. "Thanks to Caesars, we are able to employ hundreds of individuals with intellectual disabilities, giving them the chance to earn their own paycheck and develop a sense of independence."

Since its inception, Opportunity Village has saved Nevada's taxpayers more than $800 million by training and integrating thousands of disabled adults into the community who otherwise would lead isolated lives dependent upon government assistance.
