Volt Information Sciences, Inc. Introduces the Volt MasterCard Payroll Debit Card; JPMorgan's Chase E-funds Takes the ``Check'' Out of Paycheck for Volt Employees
Business Wire, June 29, 2004
NEW YORK -- Volt Information Sciences, Inc. has introduced a new and convenient way for its 37,000 contingent employees to access and manage their pay, the Volt MasterCard(R) Payroll Debit Card. Working in collaboration with JPMorgan Chase Bank, the Volt Payroll Debit Card lets employees access their pay at nearly one million ATMs and use their card to make purchases at point-of-sale locations worldwide.
The Volt Payroll Debit Card is a simple and practical alternative for employees to access their payroll funds. For employees who sign up for the card, each payday Volt deposits the employee's salary into a special JPMorgan Chase Bank E-funds account. Using a Personal Identification Number (PIN) ensures that only the Volt employee has access to the funds in their E-funds account. Since all funds are stored in the Chase E-funds account and not on the card, Volt employees are protected if their card is lost or stolen.
"Volt understands that cashing a paycheck can be time-consuming, with long bank lines and unwanted, costly check-cashing fees," said Jerome Shaw, Executive Vice President of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. "The Volt Payroll Debit Card offers our employees a safe, dependable, and economical way to access their payroll funds wherever they may be -- on assignment, on vacation, or anywhere at all."
Volt employees can access a record of their transactions through the Chase E-funds web site or through the automated Chase E-funds Voice Response Unit.
