Daon Provides Core Biometric Technology on Registered Traveler Program; Daon, as Part of the Unisys Team, to Provide Biometric Technology in Three Major Airports in the U.S. Pilot Program

HERNDON, Va. -- Daon, a leading provider of biometric identity management software, announced today that it will supply the core biometric technology for three of the five airports in the U.S. Registered Traveler Pilot Program. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) awarded Unisys a contract for Los Angeles International Airport, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (Houston) and Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport. These airports represent three of the top 15 largest airports in the world in terms of passenger traffic.

Daon brings extensive biometric research and subject matter expertise as well as proven software products that are highly secure, flexible and interoperable, to enable the rapid deployment of mission critical systems. Daon will provide the core biometric and biographic management software, including fingerprint and iris recognition software, and solution development expertise to the Unisys team.

The pilot program began yesterday at the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport with Northwest Airlines. It will be closely followed by Los Angeles International Airport with United Airlines and Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport with Continental Airlines.
