Nielsen Music Appoints Eric Weinberg as Managing Director for Nielsen Music Control

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Rob Sisco, President Nielsen Music, and COO Nielsen Entertainment East Coast Operations has announced that Eric Weinberg will assume the post of Managing Director for Nielsen Music Control. This newly created position oversees all operations, sales and marketing for the Nielsen Entertainment-owned company Nielsen Music Control, a radio airplay-monitoring business that operates in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, UK, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Ireland, Scandinavia, Greece and Mexico, and whose clients include record labels, recording industry associations, and radio stations.
"The announcement of Eric as managing director of Nielsen Music Control signals a collaborative approach to the Music Control businesses," said Rob Sisco. "With his vast business development experience, Eric is uniquely qualified to integrate Nielsen Music Control into the VNU family."
Eric Weinberg joined VNU in 2000, most recently serving as Vice President of Business Development for the Media Measurement and Information division of VNU (MMI). In this role, he worked with the many companies of MMI helping them evaluate potential acquisitions, develop and implement strategic plans, and capitalize on opportunities with other VNU properties. Eric played a key role in VNU's acquisition of Nielsen Music Control.
Prior to joining VNU, Eric worked as a Management Consultant for Andersen Consulting. As part of Andersen's Media and Entertainment Group, he developed and implemented corporate strategies, new business opportunities and evaluated acquisition for clients in Television, Print and Film. Eric has an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and a BA in History from the University of Michigan. Eric will be headquartered in London.
