NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 2004
Rush Prepaid Visa Card Holders Now Have Access to 24-Hour on-Call
Accountant, over 20,000 Electronic Billers, and Ability to Pay Anyone
Any Time of Day
UniRush Financial Services, the financial services company founded by Russell Simmons, today announced it has an agreement with Metavante Corporation, a financial technology provider, to offer Rush Pay, a new comprehensive bill payment service available to individuals and families without access to a traditional banking relationship. Starting today, Rush Prepaid Visa Card holders will have access to Rush Pay's 24-hour on call accountant, over 20,000 electronic billers, and the ability to pay anyone any time of day with the Metavante electronic payment solution. Rush Card holders can either dial 866-RUSHCARD to access their billers and make payments over the phone, or visit www.rushcard.com to make payments online.
"Until now, the idea that someone without a traditional banking relationship would be able to make electronic payments online, or have the option of paying all their bills over the phone was unthinkable," said Russell Simmons, founder and chief executive officer of Rush Communications. "Rush Pay is just another way UniRush is offering Rush Card holders access to important financial services."
"Metavante is pleased to enable UniRush Financial Services with our innovative and comprehensive electronic bill payment solution that will give Rush Card holders access to a flexible and convenient online payment service in a secure environment, without the requirement of enrolling in a full electronic payment service," said Cary Serif, executive vice president, Metavante eFinance Group. "This offering is especially beneficial for consumers that currently are not members of a financial institution or part of a company's bill publishing service."
For those customers making electronic bill payments, UniRush is also extending a Rush Pay Guarantee. Under the Rush Pay Guarantee, if a Rush Card user makes a payment with the Rush Pay electronic bill payment system and the payment does not arrive within 24 hours, UniRush will cover the cost of all late fees associated with that biller.
"The Rush Pay service continues our dedication to providing convenience, security and control to all Rush Card holders," said Craig Marshall, chief operating officer of Rush Communications. "Traditionally our card holders have been forced to pay bills at bill payment centers and via money orders - a time consuming process. With Rush Pay and the Rush Pay Guarantee, Rush Card holders can now pay anyone electronically, and feel safe their payment will arrive on time."
Details of Rush Pay
Starting today, Rush Prepaid Visa Card holders will have access to Rush Pay's 24-hour on call accountant, over 20,000 electronic billers, and the ability to pay anyone any time of day. Rush Card holders can either dial 866-RUSHCARD to make payments over the phone, or visit www.rushcard.com to access their billers and make payments online. Rush Pay eliminates the need for money orders, helps Rush Card holders track their spending, eliminates bounced checks and associated fees, and is cost-effective. Rush Card holders will be charged $1 per transaction, whether they are making an online bill payment, or calling to request that a check be mailed on their behalf via an on-call accountant.
UniRush has integrated the electronic bill payment system developed by Metavante Corporation, the financial technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation. Rush Card holders can add their own billers by calling UniRush directly to make a payment, or via the rushcard.com Web site. Under the Rush Pay Guarantee, if a Rush Card user makes a payment with the Rush Pay electronic bill payment system and the payment does not arrive within 24 hours, UniRush will cover the cost of all late fees associated with that biller.
