for Military, Aerospace, Commercial Applications
HITEK Manufacturing Company (www.hitek.sarnoff.com) today announced it has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 / AS9100B certification, which demonstrates the company's conformance with internationally accepted quality standards for the commercial, military, and aerospace industries.
HITEK, a subsidiary of Sarnoff Corporation founded in 1997, specializes in low to medium volume electro-mechanical manufacturing and environmental testing for military, aerospace, and commercial applications. Capabilities include prototype to production of electronic assemblies as well as comprehensive environmental testing services in compliance with military standards such as MIL-STD 883, Test Methods 5004 and 5005.
"This certification means that companies with low to medium volume requirements can now obtain the same level of quality services that higher volume facilities offer," said Daniel J. Koloski, president. "We are very proud to offer the added assurance of the ISO 9001:2000 / AS9100B certification to our customers."
In addition to the ISO 9001:2000 / AS9100B certification, HITEK was approved in 2001 by the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) for Commercial Laboratory Suitability.
HITEK has worked extensively in supporting the Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program, developed by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to provide a long-term solution to the obsolescence of microelectronics modules used in defense platforms. The role of the GEM program is to provide high reliability integrated circuits as form, fit and function replacements for obsolete OEM components in military weapons systems and ground vehicles such as the F-15, B-1 Bomber, and Abrams tank. Sarnoff Corporation is the prime contractor for the GEM program.
