SAN JOSE, Calif. & SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 8, 2004
MightyBackup and MightyPhone 2.0, For Easy, Secure Mobile Backup
and Personal Data Management, Demonstrated at BREW 2004
Developers' Conference, Booth #24
FusionOne, a leading provider of personal content management applications for mobile phone users, is demonstrating two products at the BREW(TM) 2004 Developers' Conference that capitalize on the power and flexibility of QUALCOMM's BREW platform: MightyBackup(TM) and MightyPhone(TM) 2.0.
MightyBackup
MightyBackup is a wireless BREW-based service that provides simple, automatic data backup and restoration. If a phone is lost, stolen, damaged or upgraded, MightyBackup quickly and easily sends the user's address book to a new phone. One of MightyBackup's key features is its 'set it and forget it' scheduling -- automatic backups ensure phone book addresses are constantly protected.
Unlike other backup and restore products that require direct contact between the phone and PC, MightyBackup utilizes the wireless carrier's network to automatically back up a user's contacts to the MightyBackup data center. MightyBackup is the first wireless application to handle this task simply and elegantly, meaning users never have to re-type contacts into their phone again.
MightyPhone
MightyPhone 2.0 is a wireless application which synchronizes address book, calendar and to-do list information between a PC, phone and the Web. It offers synchronization support for popular desktop organizers such as Microsoft Outlook(TM) 2003 and Lotus Notes(TM). A free trial of PC synchronization, which includes access to a feature-rich, intuitive desktop data management tool, is also available for the first time.
Additional service improvements and enhancements include:
-- Streamlined, convenient on-phone signup process
-- AutoSync - 'wakeup' SMS keeps a phone automatically up-to-date
as the information changes
-- Faster-loading, user-friendly interface for Web and PC
applications
"It's important that the applications we develop deliver both customer satisfaction and revenue growth for carriers," said Rick Onyon, president and CEO of FusionOne. "The intuitive interface and interoperability of the BREW platform help ensure that."
"MightyPhone and MightyBackup are applications that solve real problems for the mobile consumer and leverage the powerful features of the BREW solution," said Mike Yuen, director of BREW developer relations for QUALCOMM Internet Services. "QUALCOMM is pleased that FusionOne is developing solutions that drive wireless innovation."
QUALCOMM's BREW solution provides products and services that connect the mobile marketplace value chain, which includes publishers, application developers, content providers, device manufacturers, operators and consumers.
Publishers and developers worldwide are generating revenue from BREW-based applications and content, and 26 manufacturers have offered more than 135 BREW-enabled device models to consumers. BREW is successfully enabling the commercial wireless data services of many successful operators, including Verizon Wireless, ALLTEL, Cellular One, MetroPCS, Midwest Wireless, NTELOS and U.S. Cellular in the United States, China Unicom, KDDI in Japan, KTF in South Korea, Hutch in Thailand, Telstra in Australia, VIVO in Brazil, BellSouth Chile, BellSouth Colombia, BellSouth Ecuador, BellSouth Guatemala, BellSouth Nicaragua, BellSouth Panama, BellSouth Peru, Telefonica Moviles in Peru, Movicom in Argentina, Telcel and Movilnet in Venezuela, Verizon Dominican Republic, Verizon Wireless Puerto Rico, Pelephone in Israel and Zapp in Romania.
MightyBackup for BREW will be available to wireless operators in June 2004, with MightyPhone 2.0 following shortly. Both products will support a wide range of popular BREW handsets. For more product and pricing information, please visit www.MightyBackup.com and www.MightyPhone.com.
